Have you ever been faced with the problem of having to change affiliate links on your blog? Maybe the folks looking after the affiliate program changed their link format and won’t support the old format (it happens), or maybe you’d prefer to swap a link out for a link to a better product. This isn’t a problem if you only have a couple of links that need changing, but what do you do if you have a load of affiliate links distributed across your posts? Well, there is a simple way to replace links that doesn’t require a lot of time and editing, so here’s what to do:

Changing Links Throughout a Blog:

  1. Download the search & replace WordPress plugin
  2. Upload the plugin to your blog and active it
  3. Go the the Search & Replace option in your Settings list
  4. Tick the content box
  5. Put your old link (as used on your pages) into the Replace box
  6. Put your replacement link in the With box
  7. Click the Go button

Search & Replace WordPress Plugin

If replacement numbers look high, it’s because replacements are also done in drafts, trash and revision posts.

The Autoresponder Code Launches

Tim Bekker’s Autoresponder Code launched earlier today.

The Autoresponder Code is unlike other email marketing products. Rather that teaching you “How to build your list” or “How to drive traffic to your website“, in instead focuses on a largely unknown area of email marketing, offering simple tricks and techniques you can instantly use to :

- build a strong and positive relationship to your opt in list subscriber

- personalize your websites for your subscribers

- increase your squeeze page conversion rate massively

- increase your confirmation rate

- build your own affiliate program just by using your autoresponder

There are more than 25 techniques that aim to increase your profits dramatically.

Pros:

It’s a pretty good course on how to go about list building and the psychology behind opt-ins and listbuilding and it will help you to maximise your list building efforts.

Bekker is also providing 3-Tiers in which affiliates can earn from promoting this system.

Cons:

If you don’t have a list yet, then you’re probably better off not buying the course until you have created one. The course doesn’t teach you how to drive traffic to your opt-in pages, so you’ll need to go elsewhere to learn that skill.

What ePN Affiliates Think of eBay

For those not in the know, ePN stands for eBay Partner Network. While eBay used to run an affiliate program through Commission Junction and Pepperjam Network, in the last year or two, those were closed down and the only way to become an eBay affiliate was to open an account with the eBay Partner Network.

eBay are constantly playing with things (often without proper testing before officially releasing an “update” to the system), which has annoyed many affiliates. Rather than paying a fixed percentage of a sale (as they used to), they now employ something called “Quality Click Pricing”. What this boils down to is the quality of your traffic determines how much you get paid in commissions. And who decides how good your traffic is? eBay. Could there be a conflict of interest there, perhaps?

I recently got an interesting email from a member of the ePN community. Apparently there was a conversation on the ePN forum where the new head of ePN asked for feedback, and 90 answers later from ePN members, still had not responded to any of them.

Anyhow, he pointed me to the Unofficial ePN Affiliate Survey, and invited me to sound off and be heard (I use the phpbay Pro and Auction2Post eBay plugins on some of my blogs). According to the site:

The eBay Partner Network (ePN) has been heavily promoting their new Quality Click Pricing (QCP) payout method since it started back in October 2009. In less than six months they have won two awards from other affiliate related organizations and they like to use their blog to profile specific affiliates doing well.

But do these awards and hand-picked affiliate profiles reflect the current overall opinion of ePN by their affiliates?

As an active ePN affiliate or as a professional affiliate marketer thinking about joining the eBay Partner Network, wouldn’t you be better served by knowing what experienced ePN affiliates think of the program?

This survey attempts to discover what current eBay affiliates think of the program as of 2010. Our hope is that the results will allow you to compare your opinions of the program to your peers and to allow those thinking about joining the eBay Partner Network to make an informed decision before committing valuable resources to the program.

So check out exactly what ePN affiliates think of eBay’s affiliate system (it makes interesting reading) and, if you’re an eBay affiliate yourself, record your own opinion.

Unique Article Wizard Review

The Unique Article Wizard interface

Note: This is a product review, click here to visit Unique Article Wizard’s site

While Unique Article Wizard (UAW) is a service I looked at a number of times, it was only recently that I signed up for it. I’m already a member of Article Marketing Automation which posts articles to a blog network, so I wasn’t sure I wanted to sign up to what I thought was a similar service. However, I succumbed and signed up to UAW. The monthly fee is $67.

Where similar services post to blog networks, Unique Article Wizard posts articles to article directories. Over 1,000 directories are listed in its database; some cover a wide range of categories while some are very niche specific. So your article won’t be posted to every directory but having an article go out to several hundred directories would be an average result.

Unique Article Wizard also includes a way of spinning articles. And, since these go out to article directories, each article has an associated author bio. And it’s here that Unique Article Wizard’s power lies…
