I use a specific domain for building test blogs. I decided to move my Telescope Guide auction site from a Bravenet shared hosting account (which doesn’t support cron jobs) to a VPS webhost. I discovered that the BackupBuddy plugin doesn’t run on Bravenet either (probably takes too many resources) so I had to download all the WordPress files and folders to my PC (Bravenet doesn’t even provide a File Manager so I couldn’t zip up the files). I then uploaded …

Bailey’s Tackle is an older domain I had that I wanted to rebuild using WordPress. I put up an initial blog with just 3 posts. The next stage was to populate it with PLR articles using the Easy Empire Builder (EZ EB) plugin.

However, EZ EB’s automated licence issuer isn’t working so I can’t get an unlock code for this domain. Scrub building a site here for today.…

I find WordPress incredibly frustrating to work with. Plugin conflicts, plugins that only work on some webhosts, WordPress upgrades breaking plugins, bugs in plugins, the list goes on.

So as much for my own edification as anyone who visits here, I’m going to start documenting when things go wrong, and what things go wrong. Most of it will be WordPress related but there will be other stuff too, stuff to do with running an online business, like my broadband connection …

I set myself the task of building a number of blogs many weeks back as ways of earning some extra money online in these dire financial times. So how has it gone?

Not well.

UPDATE: Subscriber’s Magnet is no longer available. Try Clickfunnels® instead.

My Thoughts On Subscriber’s Magnet

The opt-in forms themselves still need to be created using an autoresponder service like Aweber or GetResponse. But the plugin makes it easy to add your opt-in form to posts, your sidebar, as a drop-in window and as a semi-transparent bar on your site.

What’s more, it prefills the …

UPDATE: The Affiliate Ninja Plugin Is No Longer Available

I now use and can heartily recommend the Pretty Link Pro plugin which does the same thing as Affiliate Ninja. The Pretty Link Lite plugin is a free cut-down version that doesn’t have the auto-keyword-linking option or some of the other advanced features.

I’ve been kind of slow in posting my progress with the Cheap Electricity Options blog of late. The Week 4 progress report was posted a day or so …

If you read Progress Report 1, you’ll know that the blog I set up for this case study is Cheap Electricity Options.

To recap, Week 1 of the blog development involved keyword research and identifying if the niche wasn’t too competitive and that there were enough products for it to advertise. Week 1 closed with the installation of the blog, selecting a theme and adding a home page and article. The blog is set up to use a …
