.COM Prices to Increase

Verisign, the central domain registry, has announced that it is increasing their wholesale cost for .COM domain name registrations and renewals from $7.85 to $8.39 for all registrars, starting September 1, 2021 00:00 UTC.

The change affects domain registration prices, domain renewal fees, and domain transfer costs.

Under the new agreements it struck with the U.S. government and ICANN, the company has been able to get authorization for such a move.

If you own any .COM domains, I encourage you to take advantage current prices and register, renew or transfer your .COM domain names before the new prices go into effect.

The deal allows prices to be increased by 7% …

Getting A Refund From GoDaddy Was Not As Easy As I Expected!

Remember how I mentioned in an earlier post that GoDaddy wasn’t the best option if you’re looking to buy a domain name and that GoDaddy Support wasn’t the best?

I mentioned in that post that I was in the process of transferring one GoDaddy domain after another to Dynadot, my preferred domain registrar.

I also mentioned that despite having cancelled my GoDaddy Domain Discount Club (DDC) subscription, I was still being charged the discount price of €8.43 for domain renewals instead of the regular, and extremely expensive, fee of €18.99 for a .com.

Well, it looks like there was a grace period where GoDaddy hoped I’d renew my DDC subscription. I …

GoDaddy Domain Offer

GoDaddy used to be my domain registrar of choice. But that was back in the days when they were cheap and offered discount coupons.

Why GoDaddy Sucks

Their coupons used to work worldwide. Then they started geo-locking coupons to territories so, for example, the $0.99 new domain coupon wouldn’t work in Europe. And so on.

Prices are also forced into your local currency with no option of paying in the currency of your choice, unless you use a VPN.

Then the domain fees and, particularly, the domain renewal fees started rising over the years.

Then they introduced the Discount Domain Club. Pay $120 per year and your domain renewal fees are reduced.…

404 page image

Chances are that if someone visits a bad address on your website (it could be a mis-spelled URL, a page that’s since been deleted, etc), they’ll see a 404 page.

It’s simply a catchall page that visitors are directed to when a page URL is invalid. And most webmasters do nothing with this page.

However, it is a page that can be monetized. Why not put an ad on the page for some product related to your niche? You likely won’t get many sales, but you’ll get zero sales from a standard 404 page.

You could also turn it into an informational page with links directing visitors to other important parts of …

The ArbiCash System

In case you don’t know what arbitrage is, it’s buying something for one price and selling it for a higher price (hopefully) and pocketing the difference.

It’s an ancient way of doing business and its use continues today because it can be very profitable.

It’s a model I used over a decade ago when I used to buy space program memorabilia on auction sites and then sell it at a profit either on eBay or locally through classified ads.

It’s a model that can also work well for webmasters.

Buy cheap traffic from one source, have that traffic directed to a webpage and then earn from clicks on ads and affiliate links …
